Meet the team: Dwain
Landscape Services Team
“The best part about working for Multhana is the passing on of knowledge from one person to another.
I love teaching and sharing with the crew, it’s not an environment that is easy to come across these days.”
Born in the small town of Babinda, 60km south of Cairns, Dwain joined Multhana Property Services’ landscaping team earlier this year after having worked in the construction and security industries for the past six years and playing for the North Queensland Cowboys in his youth.
Dwain’s father is from Cairns, and his mother from Doomadgee, near the Gulf of Carpentaria in Northern Australia.
The Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council states that the area is the traditional homeland of the Gangalidda and the Waanyi people, who make up the majority of the population there.
Hailed as the ‘selfie king’ of the team, Dwain enjoys capturing the little moments of the day and sharing the joy with others.
What is your favourite thing about working for Multhana?
Sharing my knowledge with the crew, definitely. Especially with younger employees, I think they really like being able to talk to someone about just life in general. It’s hard when you’re young, so I like being able to help them out, it’s a very rewarding feeling.
What are you passionate about?
I love rugby league! When I was 16 I played for the North Queensland Cowboys. I don’t think you would find any photos though, this was a very long time ago! I am also an Assistant Coach for the Norths Junior Rugby League Club in Nundah.
Do you have any strange phobias?
Snakes. When I was younger, my brother put a dead snake in the cooler and asked me to get him a drink. I got a massive fright when I went to open it – it was the scariest moment of my life!
